Brett Favre confirms: I'm having surgery... Vikings Franchise sees it as a good sign that Favre will return

Brett Favre last season on the field at an away Vikings Game spinning the ball Things may be looking good for the Minnesota Vikings and their 2 year courtship with Brett Favre. After spending quite some time last summer encouraging the now 40 year old quarterback to return to the game and join the Minnesota Vikings Roster, there was big concerns that the work would have been wasted. During the NFC Championship Game, Favre hurt his ankle and was helped off the field. Despite coming back to finish the game, the ankle injury was serious and required surgery if the football legend was going to come back to play.

Less than a week ago, Brett Favre announced on his personal website that he did indeed have the arthroscopic left ankle surgery. Although no mention was made of his future on the Vikings Roster, the Minnesota Vikings Franchise seems to believe there is good hope that Vikings Fans will be seeing a return of the purple #4 Vikings Jersey.

What it really might mean of the Williams Wall is not on the field for the start of the 2010 Minnesota Vikings Schedule

Pat and Kevin Williams known as the Williams Wall on the field for the Minnesota Vikings There has been a lot of speculation about whether or not the Supreme Court will overturn a ruling that would ban Pat and Kevin Williams from the first four games of the 2010 NFL Season.

For those of you unfamiliar with the case, Pat and Kevin Williams (who are not related) are defensive tackles on the Minnesota Vikings Roster. During 2008, they tested positive for a diuretic that was banned, although there is nothing performance enhancing about the diuretic it was contested based on the fact that it might mask the presence of other performance enhancing drugs. The NHL decided to ban the both Pat and Kevin Williams for the first 4 games of the 2010 Vikings Season.

As it stands, the players have a right to challenge the ruling and fight for the ability to play in the first four games, however late last week the NHL asked the Supreme Court to overturn the ruling that would allow the two to challenge. If the right to challenge was overturned than the Williams Wall would effectively have no other options and would have to sit out the first four games, if it was not overturned there would still be no guarantee that the two could play. A final decision is expected this week.

Is Webb moving to quarterback?

Joe Webb is a fresh recruit from Alabama-Birmingham for the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings had originally drafted Webb as a wide receiver prospect but are now giving him the chance to show his skills at quarterback. Webb played quarterback at Alabama so he should fit in quite nicely at that spot. The Vikings coaches have taken a liking to Joe Webb and are happy to have such an outstanding player join their team. Organized Team Activities begin Tuesday, and the Vikings roster will include four quarterbacks now. The others include Tarvaris Jackson, Sage Rosenfels, Joe Webb and rookie R.J. Archer.

REEEjected.

12 hours after the new stadium bill hit the House, it had been approved by one and rejected by the next. The plan for the stadium passed through the Senate State and the Local Government Operations Committee this morning with a 9-3 vote but then was over rid by the House State and Local Government Committee with a 10-9 vote. The session is almost over but the Vikings are scrambling to modify it with high hopes from the Vikings fans. Good luck!

Stadium Bill Hits the Committee Today

The bill for a new Minnesota Vikings stadium hits the House local-government committee today and the team is a bit concerned with this last-minute funding plan. The bill will cost the Vikings $264 million for a total of a $791 million stadium. The extra cash will come from taxes on everything from hotels to rental cars to NFL merchandise. Nothing is even near set in stone and there has already been a “multitude of problems” with it, according to Kelliher.
